The Winter's Tale

The Winter's Tale is a play, Some critics, among them W. W. Lawrence, consider it to be one of the "problem plays", because the first three acts are filled with intense psychological drama, but the last two acts are comedic and supply a happy ending. The play also contains the most famous Shakespearean stage direction: 'Exit, pursued by a bear', describing the death of Antigonus. Moments like this contribute to its "problem play" status.
